Design Characteristics
26m Fast Assault/Patrol Boat - Gotama

Design Brief:

To design a high-tech assault/patrol powerboat either a composite or aluminium build that will provide performance, deck area to house weaponry, crew accommodation, minimalistic styling at a cost effective price.

Design Solution:

To meet the design brief, Allure Marine initiated the conceptual design stage in which several concepts in sketch form where developed. Each concept had a unique aspect though one particular concept was chosen “The Gotama”. This particular design includes design features such as deep V-hull form for sea keeping, almost vertical stem/bow increasing fwd underwater volume, light weight composite design for speed and robustness and laminate specifications to meet DNV regulations.

Exterior Design:

An interesting design feature is the raised fwd deck and lowered aft deck with low-lying pilothouse. This allows for increased protection for the occupants/crew situated within the pilothouse and rear deck. Additionally a low-lying pilothouse decreases the wind resistance while in operation at high speeds.

The aft deck offers increased protection for crew members while under increased operational speeds or in a warfare situation. The aft deck is flexible to have additional ballistic protection (if required) which modular ballistic panels would be incorporated in the aft deck side coamings.

Crew Accomodation:

Through extended missions in which several days may be spent protecting coastal waterways the crew require accommodation, sanitation and food preparation area. Therefore through careful consideration the Gotamas’ internal volume hosts accommodation for 5 crew members. Situated in the fwd deck one will find the crew quarters giving 4 crewmembers bunks to sleep on. In close vicinity to the fwd crew cabin are shower, toilet and changing areas. Leading onto the midships one will find the galley and seating area where crew can prepare food and dine.

Situated aft of the galley lye’s the captains quarters and operations room.
