12m Special Operations Patrol Boat

Design Brief:

To design a centre console, paramilitary : patrol boat capable of special operations missions powered by twin 350hp outboard engines. Must be simple to construct reducing build time, the structure must meet regulations of a chosen class society such as DNV. Construction material should be Aluminium with the possibility of a composite alternative.

Design Solution:

To meet the design brief, Allure Marine initiated first of all with the conceptual design phase. This entailed the production of several concepts in 2D sketch form accompanied by 3D study models and physical 1:6 scale model for tank testing.

Through the conceptual design process we identified one particular concept which best meet out design brief. This particular concept gave birth to the “territorial” a 12m centre console patrol boat specifically designed for special operations missions in mind.

The hull form, interior layout, aft outboard well & deck was designed with simplicity of build in mind. It was key to produce a design, which could easily be built utilising marine grade aluminium. It was our aim to produce components that could be water cut from a cut-file then placed upon a jig and welded into place. We understood that this particular powerboat would be subject to being damaged by groundings or in a battle situation therefore it was important to make components easy to replace.

Through cleaver thinking and design we had produced a powerboat that meet our design brief we set out to for fill. Below you will find a list of key design attributes.
